  • Ten wives of NWSC veterans who had been neighbors in Dawson Creek started annual reunions at various locations along the highway. A governor attended one of those early meetings. The 21st and final formal reunion in 1999 was held at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As of December 2010 one of the very few people still alive is Mae Meglen in Minnesota.

  • The creator of this web page was a Sergeant in the Postal Division at the Headquarters of the Northwest Service Command (NWSC). Only one younger soldier served with the 10,000 in the NWSC. With parental permission a Selective Service number could be called up early.
